Art Kraft is Abstract Realist who uses bold colors and shapes to express strong moods. In 2008 he received a California grant to paint and exhibit at the Paris American Academy. In 2008, his work was selected by Howard Fox, Curator of Contemporary Art at L.A.C.M.A. for Tarfest. In the L.A. Juried Open 2011 his work was selected for 2nd Place by Craig Krull, Krull Galleries L.A.
Kraft has used his dual career as an artist and award winning broadcast journalist to paint insightful, moving images. In 2000 he left as the News Director of a Southern California, National Public Radio station, to devote his full time to painting. Years of training as a social observer have combined with three decades of artistic struggle, to produce his body of work.
