Our reality is guided at times by institutionalized rules and laws that divide and create borders where borders should not be. That is where art comes in. Art is borderless. Art should not be use to separate nor negate others. Art should be universal; at the “service of life.” My art sees beyond those cultural differences that others use as a reason to divide. Instead, I see beauty in those differences where others might not.
My community is a painted canvas of diverse colors and cultures. That ability to see and feel others is freely express onto a canvas, on paper, a t-shirt, and wood; without the constrictions of rules. I don’t have a particular style of art. I like to think that my art is not bounded to one form of expression but intertwined with many styles. Through the use of different media-, be it spray cans, charcoal, pastels, paints, color pencils, and more, I’ve learned that the creation of one piece is not created solely through the use of one tool but many that shape and transform it. Every piece is like a metaphor of birth; a liberation process. Art is my voice by which my creativity is limitless.
